Dealing with ‘that time of the month’ can be really difficult at times, When you’re all bloated, having cramps, you’re body aches like no tomorrow and giant mood swings add up to the perfect recipe to make you feel all grumpy, grouchy and touchy-feely, but the worst thing that comes along with it is the Pain that won’t leave you no matter what. I know I’m just ‘Ovary-acting’ (Pun Intended) 😉

Now, don’t get me wrong but I’ve seen girls in their mood swings and throwing puns like “Instead of getting their periods, they should just get a message from Mother Nature indicating that they’re not pregnant”. Well, I know it can be tough to deal with the menstrual symptoms after every 28 days.

Hence, I’m going to share some period pain reduction remedies in this blog, because let’s just face it, menstruation is a natural part of a woman’s life. I’d be listing down 7 effective home remedies to ease the period pain. (You’re welcome) 🙂

1)      HEAT

Take a heating pad and place it on your lower back and lower abdomen until you feel a little better. This is very effective in relieving the pain. If not this, even taking a hot shower may ease your period pain.

You can use chamomile tea for treating menstrual cramps, as well as the discomfort and the pain. Chamomile tea is known for its benefits of relaxation and stress relief.

3)        GINGER

Ginger is known to be very effective in relieving the pain caused during periods. Boil some slices of ginger in water, Add honey and sip throughout the day. Doctors these days recommend yoga during periods. The most effective Yoga positions for pain relief are the Fish Pose and the bow pose. They help in stretching out the muscles of the back, neck, chest and legs. This gives relief from muscle aches and pain during menstruation.

Doctors recommend eating foods and fruits rich in Calcium, Vitamins and Magnesium such as Kale, Oranges, Bananas, Watermelon, Salmon, Broccoli, Dark Chocolate and Pineapples as they are anti inflammatory, antioxidants, and help in relieving fatigue and menstrual Cramps.
